Intro

In the beginning, my work with both digital photography and later with fractals were spontaneous occupations, primarily of a rehabilitative nature. So the resulting images had only an intimate value for me personally. However, I soon noticed that the majority of them met the minimum aesthetic standards for functioning as stand-alone work so that I could let them float freely in the sea of virtual publicity. Soon I started posting most of them on several online platforms, which reinforced the need for their clear systematization. The culmination of this work (along with perfecting the quality standard) was reached on the fineartamerica.com platform. (There’s also my personal commercial site there, offering a bit more convenient shopping.) The FAA is one of the world’s largest POD (Print-On-Demand) web platforms—a very stimulating environment!

Structure

The structure of this portfolio relies heavily on the background image organization used for the FAA. Due to the significantly different logistical situation in Croatia, the commercial component has been (at least for now) omitted. It is of secondary importance here anyway—the main purpose of this portfolio is to suggest the artistic dimension of the overall illustration (see part 1a. Mission).

(Of course, the possible customers can buy any picture printed in any size and on any of the offered items/materials directly from FAA! Tip for European visitors: printing can also be arranged (to an extent at least) with whitewall.com! They produce high-quality wall art on high-quality materials.)

At its first level, the portfolio is divided into two parts, the nature of which is indicated by their very names:
